Club Events & Activities
BSCC holds several events on an annual basis. A list of those events, plus any additional information is provided below. We will update this each month with dates and important information.
Club Meetings
Club meetings are now being held quarterly. Watch the calendar and your email for notices of meetings.
Weather permitting, these meetings take place at the BSCC range clubhouse. The meeting agenda consists of directors reports, business updates, and upcoming activities.
Sporting Clays
BSCC Sporting Clays are open to club members and to the public every Thursday evening, May through mid-September. Show up between 4:30 and 6:00 PM to be assigned to a squad of 4-6 shooters. We also shoot selected Sunday afternoons through the winter. This is fun, non-competitive shooting – no one records hits or misses.
Cost for a round of 50 clay pigeons is $12.00 for BSCC members and $15.00 for non-members. Youth (17 years old and younger) or individuals participating in high school trap or other youth shooting programs will cost $7.00. Shooters age 16 and under must show Firearm Safety Certificate to shoot.
We shoot a 10-station walking course in a beautiful setting that changes every week. Shooters may shoot each station as singles, report pairs, or true pairs based upon their skill and preference. Upon occasion, we will shoot 5-stand and flurries.
We have a golf cart for shooters who might need assistance walking between stations.
Sporting Clays goals include sharpening shooting skills, camaraderie, and safety. We welcome beginners and design the course each week so that the shots are not too hard or too easy for the average shooter. The more skilled shooters that join us are always willing to share their knowledge and experience.
Many of our shooters reload their ammunition and can introduce other shooters to this enjoyable pastime. After the shoot we meet at the clubhouse to share snacks, refreshments, and stories.
Shooters should come with hearing protection, eye protection (sunglasses are sometimes needed), their gun, at least 50 rounds of ammunition (a couple of spare rounds are useful in case of misfires), and a shooting vest or ammunition bag to gather their spent hulls.
New shooters are always welcome. Please identify yourself as a new shooter to the Range Captain(s) so you can be assigned to a squad with some experienced shooters. Our goal is for everyone to be safe and have fun.
Small Game Hunt
The BSCC Board ALLOWS a small game hunt on club property during the months of January and February. This is a shotgun-only hunt for small game such as rabbit, squirrel, grouse, crow, etc. No pheasant hunting. No rifles.
The small game hunt is geared toward youth, but all members are welcome. Donations of your harvested game for the wild game feed are greatly appreciated! Our chef can make ANY wild animal taste delicious…even crow!
There will be a sign-in sheet, rules, and a map on the porch. Please sign in, state which section you are hunting (check the map for location details), and sign out when you leave so others know the section is available. Scroll down to see the map of hunting sections.

3-D Archery Shoot
The BSCC hosts an annual 3D Archery Shoot each year, which is open to Club members and to the public. The shoot is a two-day event that features a walking course of 30 targets spread over much of the beautiful 118-acre Club property.

Youth are welcome with the supervision of an adult.

Free Youth Shoot
Each year BSCC provides an annual FREE Youth Shoot.
The youth shoot is our club largest undertaking. We typically serve over 300 parents and children with the help of over 60 volunteers.
Envirothon
An Envirothon is an outdoor, hands-on learning experience for high school students. It centers around five different learning stations (soils, wildlife, water resources, forestry, and current environmental issues) each of which are staffed by professionals on that subject.
