The Byron Sportsmen and Conservation Club was founded in 1983 on land located five miles north-west of Byron, just across the OlmstedDodge County line. Since its founding, the Club has grown to approximately 118 acres through the purchase of adjacent properties.

Club membership is capped at 500 members: 110 Life Members and 390 Annual Members.

Key activities include rifle, pistol, shotgun, and archery shooting as well as camping, hiking, fishing, and social gatherings. The Club sponsors a pheasant hunt for members and family/ friends every fall.

Throughout the year the Club sponsors events that are open to the public including: Sporting Clays, 3D Archery shoots, and a free Community Youth Shoot (our #1 community outreach). The Club sponsors a Wild Game Banquet each year, known as the “Best Game Feed Around.”

The Club is open year-round, with access controlled by members using a unique PIN number to control the automatic front gate. The premises are monitored by security cameras.

BSCC actively supports the local community by making its people and facilities available to law enforcement, youth groups, scouts, conservation groups, permit-to-carry and hunter safety classes. The Club maintains the roadside ditches approaching BSCC twice yearly.

 

The Club practices wildlife conservation on its land with input from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Club property provides habitat for a large resident population of deer, turkey, pheasant, and many non-game species. A branch of the Zumbro River on the property contains panfish and smallmouth bass. Members can enter a weighted lottery to hunt for turkey (spring) or archery deer (fall) on Club
